Amaze In Style

That's right, it's that time of the year again! For those of you who don't know, I'm turning 21 on the 26th of April, which means my wishlist game is stronger than ever (and also far larger). Wishlists are seriously my life and I tend to add as much as possible into them, just to make sure I have options in case something is out of stock by the time I go purchase it online. So today I'm sharing with you my incredibly long (84 items to be precise!) wishlist for my birthday, consisting of both clothes and beauty related items from all over the internet (Ebay, Colourpop, Topshop, Boohoo -- just to name a few). Overall, I'm looking for mostly clothes, considering I've been splurging a lot on my makeup collection thanks to this blog, so I'm stacking up on clothes versatile enough for both Spring and Summer, while also delving into the lovely world of Colourpop lippies. I hope you enjoy and please let me know what your top picks are from this whole post, it will help me narrow everything down when the time comes!

Insurgent Fashion Inspiration

Hello everyone! Since tonight I'm going to go to the movies to see Insurgent, I've decided to show you an outfit perfect for a night out at the movies. This can work whether you're going with friends, family, or a significant other. It's cute, yet fashionable, and you can always alter it to your own preferences. This is simply some inspiration for your own outfits.

Starting with the top, I chose a bralette by For Love and Lemons (you can find it here). Of course, if you're not comfortable wearing bralettes, feel free to change this for a simple black top or sweater, whatever fits your preferences or even the weather.

Like always, I had to go with a pair of high waisted skinny jeans, my ultimate wardrobe essential. This pair is the ripped Joni jeans version from Topshop, which goes great with anything, really (you can find them here).

In case it's still chilly where you live, a long and fluffy cardigan like this grey one is perfect to cover you up nicely. It's so cozy that it's like watching a movie while wrapped up in a blanket. Sadly, I couldn't find the link to the cardigan.

As for shoes, a pair of black cutout boots, like these from Nasty Gal, will do the trick. They give a small edgy tone to a rather girly outfit, without looking too much all at once (you can find them here).

As for bags, go with something small, where you can fit just the bare essentials. This one from Prada is perfect (find it here), but you can easily find other similar bags for a much more reasonable price.

Finally, this is completely optional, but I believe a cute little beanie like this one from H&M (find it here) always manages to warm you up in a cold night, while perhaps hiding your hair if it's just not cooperating that day. It's always a cute touch, if you're going out with friends, or even for a date!

And that's all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed this and I'd love to hear about what you thought about Insurgent? Did you go see it already? Are you planning to? Don't forget to tell me if this gave you any inspiration for your night out and I hope you have a lovely time!

Glam Outfit Inspiration

Friday's finally here, which only means one thing: girls night out! Since this weekend I'm going out to celebrate a friend's birthday, I decided today's stylespiration post should be all about how to dress for that occasion. Mind you, going out at night with friends can be a lot more casual than this, but I decided to go for a more bold, polished look.

I know a lot of people think a dress is mandatory for a girls night out, but personally I feel like a playsuit is a lot more comfortable and handy. Whether you're going to be drinking or dancing, it's nice to know the chances of you flashing someone are smaller, hence why a playsuit is the perfect choice for someone as clumsy as me. I went with this one from Topshop (you can find it here). The colour is beautiful and I believe it will compliment all skin tones in a way, plus it accentuates the thinnest part of your body, giving you a flattering shape.

As for the shoes, I had to go with a classic: a simple pair of black high heel sandals. You can never go wrong with these, they work so well with so many outfits, even in a more casual scenario, so they're a great investment as soon as you learn how to walk in them! I chose these from Saint Laurent (you can find them here) but you can find a lot of similar shoes almost everywhere.

As for the bag, you need something that is small and practical, yet big enough to carry your phone, wallet, and other necessities. Hence why a envelope clutch bag like this one from Givenchy (find it here) is perfect.

Finally, I decided to add some makeup suggestions to complete this look, since I didn't want to stop at the outfit. A dramatic red lip and a brown smokey eye look great on everyone, no matter what outfit you're wearing or how you did your hair that night. The Naked Basics palette from Urban Decay is perfect for that night out smokey look, plus it doubles up as a great palette for an everyday subtle eye look for school. As for the lips, Topshop's Wicked is a great alternative if you're looking for a budget-friendly lipstick (you can find it here).

No matter where you go or what you wear, just make sure you're safe, responsible, and most importantly, that you have a blast! I hope you have a lovely time and I'll see you guys on my Monday post.

How To Style a Blue Button Up Shirt

If you're anything like me, then there's probably one thing you hate more than anything - the dreaded blue shirt. It's not that it's a bad piece of clothing, it's just you hate pairing it with a pair of denim jeans, so you hardly ever wear them, too afraid to look a bit too 'blue'. Fear not, I bring you a new way to wear your beloved blue shirt or denim button up without having to reach for your trusted pair of black jeans (the solution to every fashion problem, ever).

First of all, grab your favourite blue/denim top/shirt. I chose a blue button up from Monki (you can find it here). Since it's still cold in most places, throw a black sweater on top of it and make sure the colour of your button up peaks through. I chose a textured fisherman jumper from Topshop (find it here).

Now that the blue is neutralised, try reaching for a pair of white jeans. Black jeans would also work, of course, but since Spring is close, it's time to welcome brighter colours into your outfit. I chose a pair of ripped knee jeans from New Look (you can find them here), but the ripped part is just personal preference - it's definitely one of my favourite trends for Spring.

To stop things from getting too plain and monochrome, I paired the outfit with some Nike Air Max sneakers with a floral print (find them here). It's not in a very bright colour, so it won't be too eye catching, but it's still a nice pop of colour and gives your outfit a little extra something.

Finally, to bring back something to tie in with the black jumper, grab for a black purse; I chose one from Givenchy (you can find it here). It's not the most affordable black bag out there, but it's very easy to find a nice black bag for a small price, especially if you go to H&M or Mango, they have great bags for small prices.

And there you go! A simple, yet visually interesting, outfit that is perfect for either Winter or Spring. Of course, you can give it your personal touch by adding jewelry or even by the way you do your makeup or hair to pair up with this outfit. Remember, the most important part of these stylespiration posts is to give you inspiration for your own outfits, not to set rules for what you should wear. Have fun and go out there feeling confident!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

I bet you were expecting a really girly outfit, weren't you? Personally, I never thought pink was a very girly colour, especially since I grew up surrounded by men who wore pink very often, while most of the women barely even wore the colour. So I decided to make today's stylespiration post all about how to incorporate pink into an outfit without sacrificing your edgier style.

First of all, you have to choose a pink piece of clothing that will be the main focus of your whole outfit. I chose this plain baby pink t-shirt from Monki (you can find it here). It's a great piece to have in your wardrobe since it's quite affordable, while still being simple enough to be paired with almost anything else. Plus, since sooner or later we'll have Spring knocking on our door, this is a great way to make your outfit a bit more adequate to the season.

You all know how much I love all black outfits, they are just so classy but badass at the same time, plus they fit anyone's style, if you know what to pair together. So to neutralise the girliness of the pink shirt, I paired it with some MOTO black ripped Jamie jeans from Topshop (you can find them here). Don't forget to add your favorite black leather jacket. I chose one from Saint Laurent (you can find it here).

I also brought in the Nike Rosherun (you can find them here) since running shoes are definitely a trend I've got my eye on and I've been dying to try out -- it just seemed to fit perfectly in this outfit, so it takes it from edgy to fashionista in a second.

Finally, accessorise it with a pair of sunglasses to crank up the badassory (I went with Ray-Ban Classic Wayfarer XL, that you can find here). To keep the pink still present in the outfit and to contrast with all the black, try adding some pink blush (I went with the NARS blush in the shade Reckless, that you can find here) or nail polish (I chose the NARS Ithaque nail polish, that you can find here).

And there you have it! A simple way to incorporate pink into your outfits without leaving your personal style behind. Since Spring is just around the corner, this is the perfect way to add a pop of colour into your regular dark colour scheme without making it too big of a change. I hope you liked this post and, as always, leave me all your feedback in the comments!

Beating The Monday Blues

Welcome to a brand new fashion series on my blog! I was feeling like the fashion section was lacking, so I came up with Daily Stylespiration, a daily post featuring a whole outfit I put together on Polyvore. This will make my blog a lot more active, since instead of the regular Monday post, you will now get that and also daily stylespiration posts every day of the week! Hopefully you'll enjoy these posts and you'll get a better sense of what my personal style is like.

Today's post is all about how terrible Mondays are and how you can beat the Monday blues with a stylish yet comfortable outfit. Let's be honest, nobody has the time or patience for anything, let along doll up for school or work. In most places, it's still freezing outside, which only makes things worse. On days like these, I always try to dress as comfortable as possible, because if I feel all snuggled up, I'll instantly feel better, and if I'm wearing something I feel confident in, my day will surely go better and my mood will improve on the spot.

Jeans are always a great option. Just grab your most comfy pair; I chose this pair from H&M, I love the hard-worn details, that give your outfit a more casual vibe.

When it comes to tops, anything will go great with this look, be it patterns or a plain black tee like this one from H&M (currently out of stock, but it's very easy to find a similar one). Personally, I prefer to go for simple colours, especially black and white, since they're incredibly easy to pair up with everything else in your wardrobe - prints, however, can be a good way to bring some colour or personality into your outfit.

Since it's still cold outside, I suggest choosing a warm cardigan that will keep you warm all day long. I chose this knitted cardigan from Monki (currently out of stock).

For shoes, you could easily go for a pair of trainers since they're a big trend at the moment, but if you're not a big fan of that trend, a simple pair of flats will classy everything up while still keeping things casual. Of course, you could also go with some black boots if that's what you love, just make sure you're comfortable at all times on these dreaded Mondays. I chose a pair of pointed loafers from H&M (currently out of stock), but something like this, from Topshop, would also look perfect.

Finally, grab your favourite black bag; I went with one from Saint Laurent (currently out of stock), but there's a million more that will work just as well and won't end up breaking your bank! Any black bag will do, really. Even a pop of colour would work, if you feel like you need it to liven up your Monday. You can also add some accessories such as rings - personally, I'm not a big fan, but do what you must to make the outfit more you.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and that you're as excited about this series as I am! Make sure to leave your feedback in the comments and don't forget to have a great Monday.
